If you want to enjoy a breathtaking view over Lake Walen to Lake Zurich and watch beautiful sunsets on the Flumserberg, you can now do so on a very special bench. A wooden bench in the shape of an aeroplane seat.

Since 2016, the Swiss holiday airline Edelweiss has been naming its aircraft after regions where the queen of Alpine flowers is native, in line with the motto "Where Edelweiss is at home". Edelweiss also grows on the Flumserberg. For this reason, an Edelweiss Airbus A340 was christened "Flumserberg" in October last year.

Bergbahnen Flumserberg AG placed an Edelweiss bench in the Swiss leisure paradise of Flumserberg this morning as a sign of their partnership. A wooden bench in the shape of an aeroplane seat. From here you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the alpine landscape. There is also a signpost next to the wooden bench showing the direction and distance to some of the holiday destinations to which the Airbus A340 "Flumserberg" flies. The official inauguration of the bench was performed by the two godparents Maite Nadig, former Swiss ski racer and double Olympic champion, and David Birrer, Chief Operating Officer of Edelweiss.

"We are very pleased about the partnership with Edelweiss. Here on the Flumserberg, you can recharge your batteries for a day, perhaps a weekend or even a week's holiday. This is a parallel to Edelweiss. Passengers also take time out and recharge their batteries at a beautiful holiday destination," says Mario Bislin, CEO of Bergbahnen Flumserberg AG. And Edelweiss Chief Operating Officer David Birrer adds: "Just like Flumserberg, we also offer countless opportunities to make your holiday either active or completely relaxed. And we both attach great importance to unforgettable experiences. We are proud that we can make the region even better known with our Airbus A340".
