Akureyri

Akureyri lies at the foot of the Eyjafjördur fjord and is the gateway to the breathtaking natural diversity in the north of the island. Imposing waterfalls, lakes and gorges, the Hverarönd geothermal area and many other impressive natural spectacles await you. With its diverse cultural offerings, cosy cafés and restaurants and the Akureyrarkirkja Church, Akureyri's city centre is also worth a visit.
