Task of the volunteer

As a volunteer, you are involved in all the day-to-day tasks on the ranch. If you already have a bit more experience with horses, you will help with the care, feeding and general handling of the animals. You may also be involved with hoof care, processing intakes of new horses on the ranch, and assisting with medical treatments.

Volunteers who do not have much experience when it comes to working with horses will mainly be involved with feeding the other animals (cows, pigs, goats, llamas, chickens and rabbits), cleaning and maintenance tasks, helping with fundraising events, and assisting with administrative tasks during their time on the ranch.

Accommodation in Canada

You will stay in a small guest house on the ranch grounds with the other volunteers for the duration of the project. The bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen will be shared with the other volunteers. A member of the ranch staff will take regular trips with you to the nearest small town, where you can buy food for your daily meals. These can be prepared in the guest house kitchen.
