First Edelweiss Airbus A350 to land at Zurich Airport on 13 March

  • First landing of an Airbus A350 with Swiss registration at Zurich Airport
  • The aircraft is expected at 3:00 p.m.
  • The best view of the aircraft is from observation deck B

Next Thursday afternoon, 13 March 2025, will mark a milestone in Swiss aviation history. An Airbus A350 with Swiss registration will land at Zurich Airport for the first time. Edelweiss' first Airbus A350, with the registration HB-IHF, will take off as flight WK5159 from Lourdes Airport (LDE) and is expected to arrive in Zurich at 3:00 p.m.

The observation deck offers the best view of the new aircraft

After landing, the Edelweiss Airbus A350 will be greeted with a traditional water salute in front of observation deck B. The aircraft will then taxi to its parking position, where around 100 Edelweiss employees and guests will formally receive the aircraft.

Normal scheduled services will commence on 1 April 2025

Tenerife marks the start of the Edelweiss Airbus A350 era. Initially, the Airbus A350 will fly short- and medium-haul routes, to allow the crew to be trained. From mid-May 2025, the aircraft will then be deployed on long-haul routes, starting with Las Vegas. With the introduction of the second Airbus A350 from the beginning of July 2025, the Zurich-Vancouver-Zurich route will be operated daily.
