The best shows in Las Vegas
Premium entertainment
Amazing shows are as much a part of Las Vegas as gambling and wild bachelor parties. The stages of the big hotels feature only the best in their field, amazing their audiences with magic, talent, and glamour. Programmes range from pop music superstars, to magicians, and circus troupes. Need a little help deciding? You’ll never forget these five timeless shows in Las Vegas
The magician of the century
He’s the man who made the Statue of Liberty disappear and can levitate entire train cars: David Copperfield is probably the most well-known illusionist of his time. During his show at the MGM Grand Hotel, he brings his audience to the brink of madness for 70 minutes – his performances make everyone doubt their sanity, or at least their eyesight! The question of how this devilish guy teleports himself off the stage again and again will keep you wondering for days after the performance.
An evening to keep you breathless
It all began as a small group of Canadian street performers – today, Cirque du Soleil is an international legend. The circus combines acrobatics, music, and theatre into a perfectly coordinated spectacle. You won’t find a circus ring with sawdust and big cats jumping through hoops here. Instead, acrobats perform incredible gymnastics, clowns romp around on very elaborate stage sets, and people twirl through the air on poles and ropes, and perform somersaults that will make you dizzy. There are several shows by Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas, and “Mystère”, a modern classic that has been delighting audiences since 1993, is particularly recommended.
Blue wonder
The concept is strange, the effect magnificent: The Blue Man Group is made up of three mute men painted blue, who play on stage with drums and everyday objects, creating surprising effects. Although the three blue men don’t say a word, they take their audience on an emotional journey, ask questions, and make statements. This is all accompanied by a bombastic soundtrack and lighting effects that border on magical. Relinquish control and let all your senses run wild? Be my guest: See the Blue Man Group in the Luxor Theatre.
The gods up close
It’s the Olympus of superstars: Anyone who has a permanent show in Las Vegas, a “residency”, can count themselves among the gods of the music industry. Cher has her own stage, Elton John and Britney Spears were also longtime guests in Sin City. In 2022, one highlight after another continues at the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace: Rod Stewart, Van Morrison, Sting … not to mention Katy Perry, Usher, and Bruno Mars! If you want to get up close and personal with the superstars, you’ll find them in Las Vegas.
The man who rocks the city
With his dark smokey eye make-up and black leather gear, the magician Criss Angel has been enchanting his audience for almost four decades. He walks through the air as if on an invisible tightrope, saws his colleagues in half, reads the minds of his audience, and serves up his tricks with dance routines, booming music, sweat, and passion – like a real rock star. In 2019, he moved into the Theatre at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino and crowned the fantastic: Hundreds of screens, pyrotechnics, 3D holograms and laser projections turn the “Criss Angel Mindfreak Show” into a high-tech spectacle.
