The year 2025 marks a special milestone in the history of Edelweiss: its 30th anniversary. Edelweiss has constantly evolved since its foundation. Starting out with two McDonnel Douglas MD-83 aircraft, Edelweiss now has a fleet of five Airbus A340s and 14 Airbus A320s. Edelweiss is giving itself the biggest anniversary gift of all: the expansion and renewal of its long-haul fleet with six ultra-modern Airbus A350 aircraft. This innovative aircraft stands for maximum efficiency, comfort and an eco-friendly approach and enables the company to offer its passengers an even more pleasant flying experience.

Airbus A350 – first flight on 1 April 2025

The last 100 days until the first flight on 1 April 2025 have begun. Edelweiss is launching the new Airbus A350 era with Tenerife. In the first three months, the Airbus A350 will fly on short and medium-haul routes. This is to train the crew. After that, it will fly long-haul routes. Las Vegas will be the first holiday destination to be served by the new aircraft type. When the second Airbus A350 enters into service at the beginning of July 2025, the route Zurich-Vancouver-Zurich will be served daily.

Expansion of the long-haul fleet leads to new jobs

In the light of its growth and to ensure the highest standards of service and safety, Edelweiss has announced new training courses for future cabin and cockpit crew members for 2025. As of today, Edelweiss offers more than 300 training places in the cabin and more than 40 places in the cockpit in 2025. These training programmes are a great opportunity for motivated and qualified applicants to become part of the Edelweiss family.
