Start of winter flight schedule with first flights to Cape Verde, Muscat and Agadir
- Edelweiss to fly to five new holiday destinations in November and December
- Fleet productivity back to pre-Corona level
- More flights over the festive season due to strong demand
Edelweiss celebrated the first flights to Sal in Cape Verde on 1 November and Muscat on 2 November with a traditional "ribbon cut" at the gate at Zurich Airport. Edelweiss CEO Bernd Bauer greeted the passengers of the first flight to Muscat at the gate before boarding and ceremoniously cut the red ribbon together with Florian Raff (Head Aviation Development & Statistics, Flughafen Zürich AG) and the Edelweiss crew. Agadir in Morocco was the third first flight for Edelweiss this week on 3 November.
On 28 November the first flight to Liberia in Costa Rica will take place and on 6 December Edelweiss will add Luxor to its flight programme. After the pandemic-related break, Edelweiss has been flying to Phuket again since 31 October and Colombo in Sri Lanka again since 4 November.
"I am very pleased that we are able to include the new destinations in our flight programme. I also see this as a forward-looking signal for our company and am convinced that the entire Edelweiss winter flight schedule will be well received by our guests. Especially because all bookable holiday destinations can be travelled to without quarantine for vaccinated passengers," says Bernd Bauer, CEO of Edelweiss.
Fleet productivity back to pre-Corona level in winter 2021/22
With the winter flight schedule, Edelweiss will fly to 50 holiday destinations in 29 countries. The productivity of the short-haul and long-haul fleet will reach the level of 2019 during the next few months.
