Picturesque towns on the coast of Montenegro

Boats in Harbour of Tivat

Tivat

In Tivat, glamour meets history. The harbour is full of expensive yachts, chic apartment buildings, and hip restaurants. In other corners of the city you can discover its history. Sights worth seeing include the Renaissance summer house Buca in the city centre, Ostrvo Cvijeca with sacral monuments, and Gornja Lastva, the old city centre. The adventurous should head from Tivat to Mount Vrmac where they can hike, mountain bike, and explore the canyon.

Kotor

Kotor

When you arrive in the Bay of Kotor and visit the town of the same name, you wonder whether you have landed in Montenegro or in Norway. The landscape is similar to a Norwegian fjord and the view goes from water to beautiful mountains. This picturesque landscape and the beautiful town of Kotor have become more and more of a visitor magnet in recent years. The short hike up to the fortress of Kotor is especially recommended; once you have climbed the 1,350 steps you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view. Those who do not wish to climb the stairs all the way to the top can also stop midway at the church “Our lady of health” and enjoy the view from there. Herceg Novi

Herceg Novi is situated in the west of Montenegro at the entrance to the Bay of Kotor. Thanks to the many sunny days, Herceg Novi is often called the "city of the sun". Already at the end of January, the mild climate helps the mimosas to bloom and the whole town is perfumed accordingly. Here, you will find an old town centre that is home to numerous historical buildings such as the Spanjola Fortress from 1538 and the Forte Mare Fortress from 1687.

Petrovac

Petrovac is located about 40 kilometres south of Tivat and is a beautiful small coastal town that invites you to spend your beach holidays there. The place is very popular with families. Lucice Beach, Buljarica Beach, and the main beach of Petrovac with its fine pebbles are only three of the many beautiful seashores where children can splash around in the water. An insider tip is the small village of Perazića Do with its turquoise blue water and not far away from Petrovac.
