Relaxation on the Colombian Caribbean coast
In northern Colombia, the dreamlike Caribbean coast awaits you, where one white sandy beach follows the next. Rumour has it that the most beautiful of these is in the Tayrona National Park. In the background rises the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, which at 5,775 metres is the highest coastal mountain range in the world. After you have explored the beauty of northern Colombia, Cartagena - also called the "Pearl of the Caribbean" - is the crowning finale of your trip.
During a walk through the well-preserved historic centre, the painted facades, idyllic squares and imposing cathedrals tell of Spanish conquerors, the colonial era, world trade and much more. Because of these historical influences, the old city centre has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984. But the city has a lot more to offer than just culture.
