Edelweiss launches its own travel podcast «Edelweiss Travel Tales»

  • First season with eight episodes about fascinating travel destinations
  • Presented by Erik Lorenz, known for the ‘Weltwach’ podcast

Edelweiss is taking off with a new audio format: Edelweiss Travel Tales’, the airline's first travel podcast, takes listeners on an inspiring journey of discovery. In each episode, host Erik Lorenz, founder of the successful travel podcast ‘Weltwach’, talks to people who have a very special connection to a destination.

Whether locals, adventurers, authors, documentary filmmakers or athletes – they all talk about unique experiences and exciting encounters. But it's not just about the classic tourist attractions. ‘Edelweiss Travel Tales’ introduces listeners to foreign cultures, shows what life is really like for locals and provides valuable first-hand travel tips.

The first episode takes us to Morocco, where Erik Lorenz meets author Muriel Brunswig. She once came to the country as a student, but has since built a house there, gives cooking classes and organises trips. Together they delve into the fascinating world of kasbahs, discover Moroccan cuisine and explore the country's best surf spots.

Episode 2 takes us to the Pacific Northwest of the United States – to Seattle. In a report, Erik accompanies listeners through the city: he visits the legendary Pike Place Market, enjoys the view from the Space Needle, talks to Native Americans about preserving their culture and experiences a traditional East African coffee ceremony – in the middle of the ‘coffee capital of the USA’.

The first episode will be released on 14 March 2025 on all common podcast platforms. New episodes will be released every 14 days. Further destinations in the first season: Oman, Corsica, Lofoten, Azores, Jamaica and Nova Scotia.
